Has accumulated over twenty years as a clinical mental health professional. His experience and training incorporates specialist child and adolescent and adult mental health, family therapy and clinical hypnotherapy. Referrals are welcomed across all age groups where mental health issues are of concern.
Professional practice includes five years as a mental health clinician within the WA Country Health Service, a contractual arrangement with Bunbury Regional Headspace and community based mental health services. Martin has extensive overseas experience within the mental health sector.
Establishing Busselton Child Youth & Family Counseling Service in April 2014, Martin continues to work closely with local doctors, receiving and managing Medicare Better Access in Mental Health Health referrals, offering timely assessments and formulating treatment planning. As a Registered Mental Health Medicare Telehealth professional Martin provides counselling appointments via telephone and a secure video platform. Medicare Mental Health Referrals are welcomed from across the WA South West communities and other WA Regions. Martin has established networks with local Education and Aged Care Providers. Evening appointments available.
As an Accredited Clinical Mental Health Social Worker, Martin holds Membership of the Australian Association of Social Workers and College of Social Work, The Australian Association of Cognitive Behavioural Therapists, The Australian Association of Solution Focused Brief Therapy, The Aotearoa New Zealand Association of Social Workers and Registration with the New Zealand Social Workers Registration Board.

Martin holds a long-standing interest in brief intervention treatment modalities, ideally suited to the Medicare model. He introduce a range of age appropriate strategies and techniques promoting and supporting future self-management of mental health.
As an Accredited Master Clinical Hypnotherapist (Australian Academy Hypnosis) Martin holds Membership of the Australian Academy of Hypnotherapy and The Australian Hypnotherapists Association. Clinical Hypnotherapy is offered within Medicare Mental Health Treatment Plans along with doctor and self-referrals for support in the management of pain, smoking cessation, weight loss, stress, improved self-acceptance and emotional self-regulation and well being.
Born in New Zealand and living in the South West for the past eleven years, Martin enjoys membership and participation within a number of sporting groups within the local community. A former motorcycle speedway rider, he retains active involvement in this sport as an official at the Pinjar Park and Perth Motorplex Speedway.
